BREC is thrilled to introduce you to Beau Van Veen.

This this year Capel resident Beau has been participating in a yearlong arts engagement program held at BREC called Kick Start My Arts. Beau was selected from a group of young south west residents after responding to a ‘Taster Workshop’ offered by BREC in January 2022.

Since his selection into Kickstart My Arts, Beau has participated in monthly creative workshops facilitated by Perth Festival Lab 2021 Artists, experienced a variety of arts performances at BREC, and has the opportunity to produce art in his home, school or community.

Through the Kickstart My Arts program, Beau has learnt a wide range of skills, techniques and processes from professional, Perth based artists including:

Music and sound with Azariah Felton;
Acting and Public Speaking with Charlotte Otton; and
Human Rights and Story Telling with Shenali Perera.

He also attended Noongar Country at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries with a special workshop facilitated by local Elder Dr Lynette Narkle.
