Act Belong Commit YOH Fest is WA’s leading health themed youth arts festival.

Act Belong Commit YOH Fest fuses the fun of the arts with health education by providing a platform for young people to share stories around the annual health theme.

Each year, a relevant youth health issue is chosen as the YOH Fest theme.

This year’s theme is INCLUSION. Students will explore this theme through, Drama, Dance, Song, Visual Art and Film.

What is YOH Fest?

Starting in 1998, YOH Fest has provided a platform for thousands of school students across WA to explore important health topics whilst experiencing the fun and excitement of the arts.

YOH Fest is curriculum aligned and assist schools in providing external performance opportunities to their students often resulting in improved participation and learning outcomes.

Heats are held in regionals across WA as well as online for selected categories. Every performance and submission is judged and the top items from each category are invited to compete in the Grand Final for the winning title and cash prizes.

2024 Theme: INCLUSION

Feeling included is a key aspect of human life – and essential for good mental health. We can all recall a sense of exclusion: Moments when we felt left out, different, judged, unwelcome, undervalued or unappreciated. How could an inclusive attitude changed that situation?

Being truly inclusive impacts overall wellness and can determine the success of a community. It enables meaningful and varied social connections, increases empathy, self respect, self-esteem and resilience.

Inclusion is about creating a culture in which all feel welcome, safe and confident to be themselves. Inclusion paves the way for everyone to be valued and have genuine input.

What does inclusion look like to you? How can your community be more inclusive?
